Upcoming IPL Match Faces Weather Challenges
The highly anticipated match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) is scheduled for Wednesday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. However, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the city, indicating potential rain over the next four days, which could disrupt the game.
As reported by ESPNcricinfo, rain began to fall in Mumbai around 8 PM on Tuesday, leading to the cancellation of DC wicketkeeper KL Rahul's practice session. Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indians had already completed their training before the downpour began. The evening was marked by heavy rainfall and ominous clouds looming over the stadium.
Should the match be canceled due to weather conditions, both teams will receive one point each, making their upcoming matches crucial. Mumbai will face Punjab Kings (PBKS) at home on May 26, while Delhi Capitals will compete against Punjab on May 24 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
Currently, the Mumbai Indians are positioned fourth in the standings with seven victories (14 points) from 12 matches, while the Delhi Capitals, led by Axar Patel, sit fifth with 13 points from the same number of games.
